This is called the California Poppy. They are called poppies because of their dark red, flower heads that bloom from the center outwards. The first day of spring for us is March 20. Since the Poppy is known to bloom around that time, we wanted to know what was going on in 45 days. In 45 days, these flowers will begin blooming!
These flowers are actually annuals, and they can bloom once a year. They grow very quickly, and we can tell how much sunlight they need when we look at the time it takes for them to flower. These are among the faster-growing plants we’ve seen. They can grow from 5 cm to 12 cm per week. This is why it is called the California Poppy.
You can plant seeds at any time of year, but the best time to plant Flower Seeds them is late September and October. By January the seedlings will be ready to be transplanted into their permanent garden spots.
